Finally, the wait is over! After what seems like a very long winter the vendors of the Somerset County Farmers’ Market are finally ready to open for their 8th season. The Somerset County Farmers’ Market opens Saturday, May 25th! On opening day 96 Key Radio station will be broadcasting live from the market to help kick-off the 8th season of the market with us! There will be free hotdogs and apple pies from 9-11 a.m. They will be giving away Pittsburgh Pirates and Altoona Curve tickets. Plus everyone can register to win a gas grill. The Somerset County Farmers’ Market is located in the parking lot of the Georgian Place mall. The Market is open Saturdays, May 25 through October 26, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Wednesdays beginning, June 12 through October 9th from 3-6 p.m.

The Market moves in doors atthe Georgian Place November 2, 9 and 16. FMNP & SFMNP Farmers Market Nutritional Program & Seniors Farmers Market Nutritional Program The WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provide WIC recipients and eligible seniors with resources in the form of fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers' markets in Pennsylvania. The purpose of the FMNP and SFMNP is to increase the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables with low income seniors and WIC recipients, and to expand the awareness, use of and sales at farmer's markets.
